Mandurah Jetty Construction have installed many boardwalks and viewing platforms including through wetlands and over water.
Our most recent boardwalk being the refurbishment of the Mandurah Foreshore Boardwalk. This boardwalk passes in front of many restaurants and shop fronts and included sections that varied in size and included stairs, ramps and curves. The City of Mandurah requested the use of Merbau hardwood timber instead of the most frequently used jarrah. Merbau timber is very similar to jarrah however has been proven to shrink a lot less than jarrah allowing for a safer boardwalk for public use.
The existing piles were spot blasted and recoated with a two pack paint and wrapped with denso grease tape to prevent corrosion, HDPE plastic was also wrapped around the pile to prevent damage to the grease tape and keep it in place. All the base steel work was spot blasted and recoated with a two pack paint to prevent further corrosion.
Mandurah Jetty Construction has also installed over water timber viewing platforms through the Mandurah Canals providing a peaceful place to sit and take in the beautiful surroundings.
Another project that Mandurah Jetty Construction has completed was the refurbishment of the City of Mandurah Fishing Platform in the Mandurah Ocean Marina. Mandurah Jetty Construction originally installed the fishing platform when the marina was first opened and was due for some general maintenance and timber repairs. Through this project the piles were sand blasted and recoated with a two pack paint to prevent further corrosion. New steel beams were installed and existing timber was milled down and re installed with some boards being replaced.
